Outreach is one area of Ministry that our Church is engaged in. This includes missionary programs, evangelism, social action, Christian service and witness, and community service.
Some of these activities include: *Two "Coffee Breaks" yearly, held at the east and westbound rest areas in Willington on Interstate 84. This gives us an opportunity to offer beverages and snacks to travelers over a holiday weekend during peak travel times. It also enables us to extend a hand and a smile in the Lord's name and to use the donations received to help others both within the church and without. *Our Church participates in the Windham Area Interfaith Ministries or "WAIM" which is an organization that provides assistance in the areas of clothing, housewares and fuel assistance to those in need. *Mindful of our obligation to minister to the community and beyond, recently assistance has been provided to folks affected by fire in Town, Hurricane Katrina victims as well as those affected by the Asian Tsunami. We also support mission at the denominational level through the United Church of Christ and the American Baptist Churches. *For many years working with the Town of Willington, Scouts and others, helped to collect and distribute food to those in need during holidays and throughout the year. *In an effort to support our troops overseas, recently our Church community spearheaded an effort to send "Care Packages" to those serving in Iraq.

Operation Christmas Child
Beginning in 2007, our Church participated in Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a program created by Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, back in 1993.
Over 55,000 churches from dozens of dominations participate in Operation Christmas Project each year. Every US President since Ronald Reagan has packed a shoe box gift for this project.
To find out more about OCC, click here.
Our Congregation rallied together and donated 55 filled shoe boxes our first year, and 43 our second year. Thank you to everyone for your generosity!
We hope to continue to partipate in this worthy project during the subsequent Christmas seasons. Stay tuned for details!
